For today's entry, I'd like to talk about Anime. I know that most of you think its just as dorky as Stargate, if not more. But again, I have to disagree. Its not always so bad! Now, I am one who doesnt like translated episodes. I will watch the subbed episodes, but the ones with the voice overs are definitely quite annoying. I also prefer subs because most of the subbing orgs will pick up episodes as soon as they are released in Japan, and have them subbed and available for online download by the end of the week. This gets rid of that horribly long time gap (sometimes several years!) between Japanese episode release dates, and translated episode release dates in the US. The horrible quality of translation makes them seem ridiculously cheesy and dumb. But if you can stand reading subtitles, I would first reccomend Bleach. It is probably my favorite Anime, and I have enjoyed most of the 190 current episodes. I am currently also watching several other series, but I will let you know more about those later.

Bah!
For yesterday's entry, Fictional Friday, I will just say this...I still have not even STARTED reading any of those new books I got. Thats how crazy things have been for me lately. And my list of books I still want just keeps getting longer and longer. Frustrating.
Now for Sizlin Saturday. Hate to make this whole entry so short and thoroughly unfulfilling, but theres not much I can say. Well...more like theres not much I choose to say. If you must know more, it will have to suffice that I tell you I don't know what I'm doing right now, nor do I care...but sometimes I like the little surprises life throws at you.

Media Monday
Stargate Atlantis, a spin off of SG1, is still airing new episodes. I have not watched too many episodes myself, and I may be slightly biased because of my love for SG1, but I do not think it is up to par with the origional.
If you are an Amanda Tapping fan, the actress who plays Samantha Carter on SG1, she is starring in a new series on sci-fi called Sanctuary. Its very different from Stargate, but it seems like it has potential. The entire show is shot on green screen, and then the backdrops are all computer engineered. It gives the show a completely differnt quality that has never before been seen on TV. I would also suggest adding it to your list.
And finally, Nick and Norah's Playlist. I know this movie has recieved some bad rap...but I'm here to tell you it is actually quite good. I went to see it expecting nothing special, maybe even something slightly immature. However, I was greatly surprised to find a hilarious movie that kept me engaged and entertained. It reminded me a lot of Juno. And no, that has nothing to do with the actor shared by the two movies. It just has that same sort of dry humor. I highly reccomend it.
Alright...I could continue, but I should save some for next week. I have to get back to studying anyways. AND I'm getting kinda hungry. I guess thats what happens when you havent eaten since 9 and you stay up till 5 am. Lol. Goodnight!/Goodmorning! :-D

Surprise Sunday
On a lighter note, I picked up a learn to knit book yesterday. I've been crocheting for about, what...10 years now? And I still have never tried to learn how to knit. So I figured I'd get to working on that. Seems fairly simple so far. Once I'm done working my way through the lessons I'll actually start on a project. Have a pretty lil sweater and hat set that I'll try first. Pattern looks somewhat easy, but we'll see how it goes.

Sizlin Saturday
Sorry if this post seems a little bit boring. Just wanted to lay the foundation for all my fun "Sizlin Saturdays" to come. They will most likely be fairly brief and concise. I've got a lot of fun stories to tell. You know...maybe I should call this "Shocking Saturday". Haha.
(P.S. In case you have not noticed yet, I have a new poll. Check it out.)

Fictional Friday
In the past two weeks, I have purchased and ordered a ridiculous amount of books from Barnes and Noble. And I don't even have everything that I want yet! Of course, that list never stops growing, but I am concerned I am developing a habit of book hording! Lol.

Wasted
by Marya Hornbacher
Cryptonomicon
by Neal Stephenson
True Crime
edited by Seventeen Magazine
Model
by Cheryl Diamond

Cleaning
On another note, the sweater I'm working on is coming along nicely. Oh, and my shopping trip for shoes yesterday went quite well. I ended up with 3 pairs of shoes for a total of 45 dollars. Thats 2 pairs of tennis shoes, and a pair of sandals. For 45 bucks. Yes, you should all bow down and worship the Tracy for her amazing shoe shopping skills. Haha.

Overextension
I might get back on the Women's Hockey team, too. (Yes, I most certainly am overextending myself. I realize this. Thank you.) Alana (Shelley's and my first roommate at the Gateway) called me today, and asked if I wanted to come to the informational meeting at 8:30 tonight. I said sure. Of course, I have ZERO money right now, and almost no free time, so I don't really know how I would pull it off. We'll see.

Dinner Parties & Breakdowns
On a slightly more depressing note, I haven't been doing too well emotionally recently. There is a lot going on for me right now personally, and I have been really stressed out about school, finding a job, and family situations. I kinda had a mini breakdown tonight, but I'm hoping that it helped me come to some conclusions and make some decisions that will help me climb out of the little hole I'm in. I may need help enforcing my decisions, and there are some people (if you think you know what I'm talking about than you are probably one of them) who will have to help me with that. Sorry to be so cryptic...I just dont feel like discussing certain things on a public blog. ANYWAYS...the point is that if I have a been a little short with you recently, or if I have seemed out of character or just completely out of it, I apologize. Hopefully things will start to improve soon.
Good luck to everyone starting school tomorrow!!! (Or I guess today...lol. I should really sleep, huh?)
Luv yallz!

Add Joy to Your Daily Life
Rake a big pile of leaves every fall and jump in it with someone you love.
Memorize your favorite love poem.
Learn three knock-knock jokes so you will always be ready to entertain children.
Don't let weeds grow around your dreams.
Remember that everyone you meet is afraid of something, loves something, and has lost something.
Regardless of the situation, react with class.
Let some things remain mysterious.

Things I've Realized
- I am extremely mature for my age and that annoys me, so I often act quite immature to compensate.
- I love chocolate, but I can't eat too much of it.
- I have an extensive vocabulary and sometimes insult people by "dumbing things down" for them.
- I do actually now have self-confidence, its just taking me a while to get used to it.
- I love taking care of kids, even though most people think I'm crazy for it.
- Alcohol is my friend, and my enemy.
- I like feeling special...even if that means feeling like a retard. Haha.
- I am two different people: the have fun and party till you drop Tracy, and the stay inside and curl up alone with a book Tracy.
- I have a bad habit of caring for people even more after they've hurt me and I know I shouldn't.
- I look good in green.
- I may not know what I want to do with my life, but I certainly know what I want to get out of life.
- Crazy? I was crazy once. I lived in a little white room....LMAO
- I like being alone.
- I like being surrounded by people. (I don't get it either...)
- Friends and friendship are the most important things to me.
- Standing out from the crowd embarrasses me, so I do what I can to fit in.
- The books are always better than the movies.
- I really just need someone who gets me.
- I want to be loved, but its hard for me to love back.
- I like to be challenged.
- I have VERY distinct political views, and I will argue my point for hours.
- I cant stand people who try to change me, or try to change other people.
- I'm still in the process of "finding myself".
- I will do almost anything to make a person happy if I really care about them.
- I LOVE puppies. And kitties. :-)
- I am a physical person. I like to be able to feel a person next to me, and I am reassured by the smallest touch.
- I am an emotional person, and strong emotional connections with my friends are important.
- Sometimes I talk a lot, and sometimes I barely talk at all.
- I am extremely uncomfortable in new situations.
- I compare myself to others way too often.
- I am competitive by nature, but I am non-confrontational.
- Sarcasm is my middle name.
- I don't like losing friends.
- I like beaches and sun, AND snow, ice, and mountains.
- I want to go to Europe.
- Money is not important to me, but I sure wish I had some.
- I am absolutely addicted to shopping.
- I have WAY too many shoes.
- I am ridiculously OCD, and I will freak out if you even go near my closet.
- I never really got into video games, I just read a lot.
- The thought of eating food grosses me out.
- There is a lot about me that you still don't know, and many of you never will.

This One Is For Real
So...I'm sick. Getting better, but its late. And I want to be able to make it to class tomorrow since I haven't been in a week. Which means the actual post with substance will come later today, or tomorrow.

Anyone have some music?
So heres the story. I reformatted my hard drive a while back, and ended up losing a lot of my music. I have just gone through all the music on my computer, and I have complied a list of the artists that I lost most or all of my music from. This makes me extremely sad. So, I have decided to call upon my wonderful, almighty friends. Haha. I will post the list here, and if any of you would like to let me have some of your music, that would be amazing. Thanks a bunch! <3
(It is a very long list, I know. And I'm sure there were several artists that i missed, as well. So if you have something that is not on this list that you think I might enjoy, that would be great too!)

New Projects
So yes, I have not posted in quite a while. Forgive me...I've just been out of it. Let me catch you up. Finished reading the book, which was amazing, and then returned it to the store (in pristine condition) for a full refund. Haha. You can argue with me on the ethicality of that if you must, but I see nothing wrong with it. It is the same as reading a book in the book store, without buying it at all. As long as you dont mistreat it...i would think the book would enjoy having multiple readers. Lol
My next project is to finish all of the crochet projects I have started and never finished. Honestly, I believe my bags full of half finished afghans/scarves/pillows have been sitting there for well over a year, longing to be noticed. So I have finally decided to give them the appreciation they deserve.
This is the one I finished a few days ago. I started the scarf over a year ago now, and after a day or 2 got horribly sidetracked. So when I discovered my crochet again, I did the second half of it one day, and the matching hat the next. Now it is finished. I think it looks ok, but I used self striping yarn and when I had to switch scanes, half way through, the pattern changed. Other than that its fine...except for a slight defect that I decided not to fix, from back when I first started it. Oh well...its only for me anyways.
And this is Nika showing off the next one I need to finish...an afghan I started over the summer, and only got a quarter of the way through. Probably not even that far...

A Savior
A Savior - Me
(If I put something in my journal that I wrote myself, most likely I will post the entire thing on here. Just wrote this one...still kinda rough. Also, I dont know how many people will actually read this, or how many of you will have read my writing before, so i just want to clarify something. Sometimes I write about myself, sometimes I write about other people, sometimes I take a general emotion and exemplify it, and sometimes I just write whatever pops into my head. So although some of what I write may be quite literal, do not take everything I write literally.)
Lay down her head she does at every day's end
Cheeks wet with sorrow for the coming morrow.
No more does she notice the absence of light;
Pain has become the beat of her drum.
Moon waxing and waning, stars soar past her eyes;
Fate, planned so well, has left only shell.
Long gone is the time she'd have put up a fight;
In a ball curled, shes dead to the world.
Could heavens above have decided to send
To her a savior whose will is to save her?
Is there a chance that she someday again might
Be heard to laugh, or be more than half
Of the person that she once was before the lies?
Please, be it true that he sees her too.
A best friend -- a lover, who'll do by her right;
Lord, let it be! Let him set her free.

Journal
I was at barnes and noble the other day and i was thinking...I really need something to keep me occupied, other than spending hours brainlessly watching TV! So as I was browsing the shelves, not finding any books that struck me as particularly interesting, I came along the section of journals. Books filled with blank pages, just waiting for you to fill them -- what more could you ask for? I found a really pretty one, too! Its leather, light blue with white flowers, and the leather part closes over it and snaps onto itself in the front. It also has a pencil holder. :-) So now my big decision was whether or not I should buy said journal. I would have to think of something I could use it for. I have never been able to keep myself interested enough to actually handwrite in a journal daily, so I came up with a brilliant idea! I decided to start on an assignment for a class that im technically not even taking yet(lol). I have to fill up an entire journal with any form of literature I want. I can quote favorite authors, poets, or philosophers; I can copy entire works; I can write my own prose or poetry -- the possibilities are endless! So, my new hobby has become finding and copying down my favorite poems, and writing new ones myself. I dont know if this will seem interesting to anyone other than myself, but I will keep an updated list on here with my newest additions.
So far...
The Road Not Taken - Robert Frost
Sonnet 116- Shakespeare
The Raven - Edgar Allan Poe
